We got to go and see the adorable new house are friends are in the process of buying. It looks like the next time we come we'll have a real guest room, and not have to resort to Urban urban camping! It's not too far from their current house and near a great big park, which I know they will enjoy. Very happy for them but I'm a bit jealous of their life in Portland. I miss living in the city and walking and biking everywhere! Some day, I'm sure we'll be back living in a city, until then I'll have to enjoy my city visits. And enjoy them we do, as Shelly and Dave are great ambassadors to their town. Shelly and Dave know how to live, slowly enough to take in life's pleasures. And they really have a great mellow vibe working. It certainly is a different feeling from the pace of the east coast.

We decided to head downtown for dinner. We ate at a delicious restaurant called The Original. The kids all got milkshakes and the adults yummy cocktails. My kids were a bit restless, too much time doing nothing all day, so I was glad when we finished (it was tiring chasing down kids who wanted to go outside or explore the upstairs which was closed and led to the hotel next store) and headed down to a park. Portland has all these really cool fountains that you can play in in their parks. They are designed to be like little mini water parks and the kids love them. Bella even told Shelly it was so awesome and that she was #1 for taking us there!
As we walked to the car we passed Voodoo doughnuts that still had a line at almost 9:00 at night. Shelly told us there was another location closer to the house that didn't have a line that we could go to in the morning. We didn't try Voodoo last visit, so we decided to definitely give them a try tomorrow morning, even though it won't be Sunday!

I ♥ that last shot of Bella.
